Oriental Terrace Restaurant

Tucked away in the suburban Wanniassa, ACT, Oriental Terrace Restaurant is a hidden gem among a row of restaurants sprawling in Wanniassa, ACT. Opened in 2001, the restaurant shares its popularity among locals because of its winning combination formula of tasty food, friendly service and comfortable ambiance.

Featuring an eight page menu that is encyclopedic in items, the restaurant caters to different taste palates by providing Chinese cuisine in both traditional and modern Australian styles. And it also strides across the culinary realm and adds some refreshing ethnic treats, such as Malaysian cuisine.  
 
Among over 200 menu items, the Mock Goose and Drunken Chicken are some of the favorite appetizers. The mock goose is actually composed of dried bean curd crust, while the drunken chicken is not “drunken”, it is the chicken drenched in cooking wine that makes the chicken bursting with flavor. In addition, the vegetarian spring roll is also a tasty starter. 

Never miss Peking Duck. Oriental’s version provides three ways for customers who can either choose the traditional version, or make bone soup, or stir fry the duck. In each of these cooking styles, the chef finely chooses the ingredients, and makes a balanced mix and match, which is a great appeal to customers.

The innovation does not stop here. The chef seems have the tricks up his sleeve, and brings in a host of exciting inventions that fascinates the customers who always want to try the new creations. Usually, the chef draws his inspiration from his decades of experience, and the latest cookbook or TV shows which keeps him in tune with the culinary trend.

“Our customers are very curious and like something news,” owner Kelly Koe says, “our chefs could satisfy them.”

Just as Kelly reveals, Oriental will never disappoint them, as they often provides specialties on a weekly basis, and on some occasions they offer some Chinese traditional snacks or authentic Chinese delights which are served on traditional Chinese New Year.
